About the Coach

Shelby Mirziteh (They/Them)
Hi—I’m so glad you’re here!
I coach millennials, especially my fellow LGBTQIA+ folks, helping them get unstuck and finally lead a life of passion and purpose. My Story
I’m a 37-year-old, trans, non-binary parent and veteran who's lived a wildly dynamic life. I've navigated childhood trauma, combat deployments, careers in massage therapy and technology, marriage, parenthood, divorce, poverty, financial success, and gender transition.
One of my toughest battles has been moving from "making it" in the corporate world, back into authenticity. I fought hard for that sense of safety, stability, and comfort—but it turned out it was a cage. A comfy, safe cage sure—but still a cage.
I had to confront my fears, examine my patterns, and honestly decide what kind of life I genuinely wanted—not the one society expected of me. Is it easy? HELL NO! Is it worth it to live authentically? ABSOLUTELY.
Why Coaching Matters to Me
I truly believe the world becomes better when more people live authentic, inspired, purpose-driven lives. I've sat in jobs that paid well, yet the thought of doing them until retirement was soul-crushing.
Coaching, therapy, 100s of books, and a sh*tload of real-life experience taught me that my purpose lives in serving others through transitions—especially those feeling stuck or lost in their careers. There's plenty of personal development stuff out there, but advice alone doesn't change lives. At the end of the day, your actions do.
Working with a coach for deep insights, targeted actions, and genuine accountability has made all the difference for me—and I know it can for you too.
I’m currently becoming a certified life coach from the International Coaching Federation (ICF). This professional training is important to me because while anyone can call themselves a coach, there's a meaningful difference between mentoring from personal experience and professional life coaching.
Think of coaching as similar to therapy—but instead of focusing primarily on healing past trauma, we’re oriented toward building future success. I’m a strategic thought partner with tools & exercises, and that holds you accountable for following through on the actions you need to take to progress.
My Coaching Style
As you've likely sensed by now, my coaching style is playful, direct, supportive—and absolutely no bullsh*t. In sessions, you’ll be the clear focus, and your insights will guide our work. We'll co-design exactly how our coaching partnership looks because your growth isn’t a "one-size-fits-all" experience, even in a planned program.
